in the Alien film universe.
The order mandates the investigation of a non-terrestrial life form 
discovered on LV-426,
a remote moon located in the Zeta Reticuli system.


Under Special Order 937, the commercial towing vessel Nostromo
was rerouted to LV-426
to investigate a derelict alien spacecraft carrying Xenomorph eggs.
The directive explicitly states that the return of the organism for analysis
takes priority over all other considerations.


This order is central to the events of Alien (1979) and later Aliens (1986),
that lead to the destruction of the Nostromo
and the eventual loss of the Hadley’s Hope colony.
